Personal Taste – Episode 7 & 8

10 06 2010

Episode 7 – The last few episodes were good and they did move the story forward but nothing much to really comment on, but Episode 7 was a great episode.  I loved watching Jin Ho listening to Gai In and Chang Ryul talk outside the gate.

Okay so let’s talk about typical kdrama behavior.  There have been a few other series where the quirky girl gets the button downed man or vice versa to behave outside the norm, this seems to be an important bonding moment for Koreans.  Frankly, I think Lee Min Ho could have let loose here.  I know he can yell and man he sounds really cool when he lets loose.  But I’ll take the “Ya! You’re all dead”.  I especially loved the “break up test” I was so in the moment with Jin Ho and Gae In.

I have to say that Sang-jun and Young-sun were great the whole series.  Sang-jun stole almost every scene he was in.  The supporting cast in this series really make the whole series so much better, even the parents were spot on.

This episode ends with a bang…the whole huge Jin ho reveals he’s gay in front of Chang Ryul, Director Choi and Gai in.  Wow!  Riveting stuff.

Episode 8 – This episode had so many good things… Totally unexpected scenes, for me this is what makes this a more quality series in my opinion.

As a side note, when Gai In is running around and Jin ho is watching her… Man, Lee Min Ho is just so dang cute… I can hardly stand it.  Even in that t-shirt that I can’t believe any man can pull off – you just can’t take your eyes off him.

Gai In and Jin Ho go to the movies.  Loved their cute banter and they really are starting to have a fun chemistry… and in walks Yoon Eun-hye, playing Jin Ho’s former love interest.

As an interesting side note, (this is just what I have heard via rumors) but originally this series was to star Yoon Eun Hye as the lead Gai In and Joo Ji Hoon as Jin Ho.  The two starred in Goong together, although I haven’t watched that yet, I am planning to and I’ve heard that their fan base was pretty ravenous to see them act together again.  But I’m glad Yoon Eun Hye didn’t end up the lead because I have watched Coffee Prince and though I loved Yoon Eun Hye in that, I’m hoping she will do something really different for her next project.  I really want to see her go farther away from the whole Coffee Prince thing, though this wouldn’t be the same there is still the whole playing with gender roles, etc.  Anyway, the whole thing blew up and they re-cast and got a whole new production team and that’s when Lee Min Ho and Son Ye Jin came on board.

Yoon Eun Hye was perfect as his former love and I totally bought that they could have gone out together when they were in school.  Everything about their scenes was right and I’m glad it wasn’t longer and didn’t come up again.  Bravo!

I absolutely loved the scene where Park Gai In writes on Jin Ho’s back.  I have personally loved doing that since I was a kid and trying to guess what the other person wrote.  If you’ve never done it, go get yourself a buddy and try it.  Anyway, it just felt so intimate between the two of them.  Loved it…

Below is a short vid of some bloopers, as we American’s say, or NG’s.  Enjoy!

Okay, so I have been doing this for almost a month and have had no comments, please leave a comment!  About anything or just to say hi or that you love Lee Min Ho!  Thank you.

Personal Taste – Episode 5 & 6

10 06 2010

Episode 5 – Here are some of Jin Ho’s rules to make Gai In into a desirable woman

  1. Be 10 minutes late – makes men go crazy and gives her assurance he will wait for her.
  2. Light footsteps make for a sexy walk
  3. Attractive women can live on dewdrops, so eat lightly
  4. Have self-esteem, consider yourself precious to be treated precious.
  5. Eat and speak in a refined manner
  6. Men get more keyed up over an assertive woman than a submissive woman.

If you can think of any other “rules” please leave them in comments so I can add them.

Great episode loved the flashback on Gae In and Chang Ryul.  It was fun to see them as a couple and Chang Ryul was so cute.  The salon where they go to get Gae In’s hair done looks and probably is the same one where Geum Soon works in Be Strong Geum Soon.   The party – Wow, Lee Min Ho looked too handsome.  Ridiculous.  He has such good posture and he’s so tall.

Episode 6

Episode 6 – Though episode 6 was cute and you could feel them endearing themselves to each other and even had their first kiss scene; it felt slow to me.  The best scene was the breakup between In Hee and Chang Ryul.  Wow! I thought they gave great performances.  Wang Ji Hye (In Hee) did such realistic crying and Kim Ji Suk (Chang Ryul) softened and really got to show off his acting chops.  Unfortunately, as I have often heard happens for Korean male actors; at their prime or just after a hit song/show they are called to serve their 2 yr military stint.  Kim Ji Suk just left to serve – miss you, but can’t wait for you to return.

Kim Ji Suk off to serve

Personal Taste – Episode 3

9 06 2010

Episode 3  – Personal Taste continued…

The series was trudging along and then we get to episode 3, there were so many good and funny things in this episode.  Loved Gai In’s gift of doll furniture, something so sweet about it for Jin Ho.  This episode also had the oops I saw you naked.  Jin Ho is just getting out of the shower and Gai In pops in.  But the funniest part was her talking with Young Seon about his nakedness.  This episode also has him finding her just out of the shower, but she does have the benefit of a towel.  This was a cute scene, but could have had more chemistry.  I blame the filming more than the actors because it was just shot too far away and too jumpy.  The show closes with a hilarious scene of the two of them out eating bbq, so funny.  And the moaning with the leg rubs, but the best moment of the episode was the last line, maybe it’s just the subtitle that helps, but hilarious.

This vid of funny clips from episode 3 & 4… Enjoy!
